I enjoy teaching outstanding students at Bowdoin and often learn as much from my students as they learn from me. My teaching approach has been celebrated and highlighted at Bowdoin for stubbornly respecting diverse perspectives, embracing contentious politics and confronting tough policy problems related to conflict and security.
Courses include:
Weapons of the Weak (on insurgency warfare)
Introduction to International Relations
Race & International Relations (co-taught with Túlio Zille)
International Security
U.S. Foreign Policy
